You know, I never even thought of that option. I think you're right, though, that there's a limit to how far the pranks are allowed to go, and that letting your brother think you've been, um, amphibianed is probably over the line. (Though the image of Sam trying to run after the Impala to watch things unfold is giggle-inducing, to be sure.)
