In March of 2005, a friend gave me the words words "mesquite," "scalawag," and "plunder" and the name "Farley," and this story is the result.

Summer

She knows, of course, that they must have had falls, and winters, some of the time. But her memories of him are memories of summer, soft and warm and hazy. Above all hazy, shimmering like rising heat, and blurred around the edges, just out of focus. And when she tries to sharpen him, to see him in the cool light of autumn, or the harsh bright snap of winter, he drifts out of her mind, like the wisps of smoke that curl away from her and from the candles she lights in his memory, and watches burn down to nothing.

Written in the dark days after the season three finale aired. For Lynne, with tongue firmly in cheek and the very sincerest of apologies.
The details: Supernatural fic, more or less. No one here is mine, no infringement or offense intended. A little over 1200 words. Mild to moderate spoilers through the end of season three. A few not-so-nice words. Seriously flowery language. Quite ridiculous levels of crack.

So . . . apparently, my abilities as a writer, whatever exactly those might be, do not include keeping the elder Winchester brother on his own side of the fourth wall. Which is to say, I come bearing fanfic.

But first, some author's notes.

The Details: About 1000 words, utter insanity, very very mild spoilers for the very beginning of season four. but nothing after the first episode. Parody. PG at most.
